What is Arbiscan?

Arbiscan is the official Etherscan-family block explorer for Arbitrum, the leading Ethereum layer-2 rollup. Operated by the Etherscan team, it offers the same familiar interface and toolset as etherscan.io — transaction lookup, contract verification and source viewing, token and NFT tracking, an analytics suite, and a full API — but scoped to Arbitrum One and Arbitrum Nova. For anyone building or trading on Arbitrum, Arbiscan is the default reference explorer: you can verify and publish Solidity source, read and write to contracts directly through the UI, inspect internal transactions and L1-to-L2 message passing, and trace the cross-chain lifecycle of deposits and withdrawals between Ethereum and Arbitrum. Since Etherscan's V2 API consolidation, a single API key now works across Arbiscan and every other Etherscan-family explorer via a chainid parameter, which dramatically simplifies multichain development. Browsing is free; the Pro tiers raise API rate limits and add watchlist alerts, private notes, and monitoring. The main caveats are the same as the rest of the family: it's a closed-source, centrally operated explorer, so teams that want a self-hostable or open-source option lean toward Blockscout, and its scope is Arbitrum-only. But as the canonical, best-maintained explorer for the busiest Ethereum L2, Arbiscan is what developers and users reach for by default.
