There is no single best NFT platform anymore. OpenSea and Magic Eden are the broad marketplaces for buying and selling. Blur (Ethereum) and Tensor (Solana) are pro trading terminals with aggregation and sweep tools. Foundation and SuperRare are curated homes for 1/1 art. Manifold is for creators who want to own their contract. Choose based on whether you are collecting, trading, minting, or selling premium art.
Minting through a marketplace's shared contract means you do not really own your collection — you are a tenant subject to that platform's policies. Creator tools like Manifold let you deploy your own smart contract, so you own the collection, its provenance, and its royalty configuration, then build custom drop mechanics with no code. For generative collections, Bueno handles art and metadata generation with proper rarity weighting.
The 2022–23 royalty wars permanently changed NFT economics. Pro-trading marketplaces made creator royalties optional to compete on price, and enforcement now varies widely by platform — many no longer guarantee them. If you are a creator counting on secondary royalties, understand this before you launch. It is the single biggest shift in NFT economics and it is rarely stated plainly.
A large share of reported NFT volume has historically been wash trading, inflated by marketplace reward programs. Headline rankings can badly overstate real activity. Analytics tools like NFTGo provide whale tracking and rarity data, and CryptoSlam publishes wash-trade-filtered figures that are closer to reality. When evaluating a collection's demand, look past raw volume to holder distribution and filtered sales data.
